Work progress on initiatives is assessed using the workplan module, and data-driven Key Performance Indicators (KPI) are used to evaluate the performance of the goals.

Goals and initiatives in agile adaptation
Even though CCYD adapts to the terminology and working culture of their individual client, most management frameworks distinguish between long-term strategic goals (objectives, targets, …, depending on the terminology) and more concrete shorter-term initiatives (projects, campaigns, actions, …, depending on the terminology).
The performance of each strategic goal is evaluated through Key Performance Indicators (KPI), for which baseline and target values are defined. Connecting those KPI to data sources through Aposphere Insight’s DataHub allows for automated performance calculation.
Initiatives are concreter than goals and model the work which needs to be done to reach the defined goals. Work packages and tasks are thus attached to each initiative for work progress monitoring.
CCYD accompanies most of their clients throughout several strategy iterations. Instead of restarting from scratch each time, they use Aposphere Insight’s adaptation workflows to develop their clients' strategies, including change tracking and detailed history.
Initiatives are continuously refined based on the newest KPI assessments to align the whole company’s work towards its strategic goals.
Intuitive editor
CCYD uses Aposphere Insight’s intuitive editor to define long-term strategic goals for each company level.
Baseline and target on the Key Performance Indicators (KPI) evaluate the performance of each goal. KPI are connected to live data sources through Aposphere Insight’s DataHub, allowing for automated performance evaluation.
Short-term initiatives and their associated work packages and tasks are also managed in Aposphere Insight.
The live connection between shorter-term project management and long-term strategic goals assures that the company always works towards its goals.
Strategy Diagram
In Aposphere Insight, the shorter-term project management is connected to the long-term strategic goals.
Causal dependencies are modelled using Aposphere Insight’s diagramming tool. Work is done on the initiatives (yellow) to influence the performance of the goals (blue) - or to put it simple: from cause (yellow) to effect (blue).
The performance of each strategic goal (blue) is evaluated through Key Performance Indicators (KPI), for which baseline and target values are defined.
Actions (yellow) model the work which needs to be done to reach the defined goals. Work packages and tasks are thus attached to each action for work progress monitoring.
This unique holistic view allows CCYD to quickly show how certain actions are related to the strategic goals of the company and where additional development is needed.
Personalized Dashboards: Relevant information for everyone
Aposphere Insight’s personalized dashboards present the most relevant information in a concise and accessible format.
Depending on the viewer’s role, different information may be of importance.
Executive dashboards provide real-time information about the whole company in a single place. Knowing that time is money, Aposphere Insight helps you focus your attention on where it is most needed.
The home screen of an employee shows the currently active tasks and related information. Aligning the employee to company-wide strategic goals boosts engagement and creates common awareness.
Full Configurability
CCYD works with different clients, many of which have their very specific strategy framework and terminology.
CCYD chose to use Aposphere Insight because it can be configured to match the client’s framework – instead of forcefully introducing yet another set of new terms.
This use case is based on a real project; however, names have been changed.
